Recently we’ve been looking for a cozy place to work with a free wifi facility :p.
We hung around Senayan City for a while on Sunday evening and found this unusually cute cafe filled with many people, JJ Royal Bistro. Full of curiosity, we decided to give it a try.
With manga inspired interior design, JJ Royal Bistro offers a fresh cutie place to hang out. A perfect place to waste time for hours with friends.
The cakes they offered are super cute. My feminine side screamed with joy and happiness!
Gosh, I wanted to try the Monster University cupcake so badly. But unfortunately, they didn’t have it :(.
Most of their cakes were sold out. I think we came at the wrong time. I chose another cake and again, they didn’t have it. Seeing my impatience, the waitress told me they’d brought all the available cakes to our table so I could choose easily. Fine, I appreciate the initiative.
Then 2 waitresses came to our table bringing some cronuts and pastries. I chose the Richie Rich and Zombie-kun chose the Smurf.
Comes with a name Richie Rich, the taste was rich indeed with chocolate. The chocolate cream on top was good, not too sweet.
The texture of the bottom part was a bit hard in a good way and a little bit too sweet for my liking probably because of the caramel. Ahh, you can eat the cute money on top as well. I never thought money could be so delicious :p. Overall, it was good!
For the Smurf, it’s just a regular cupcake. Nothing special. The cake itself was dry, not moist and fresh as we expected. It made our throat a little bit seret. The cream on top was ordinary. So, there’s nothing much to say.
I was curious about this one. Because my friend ordered a Bailey Milkshake in other cafe several months ago and it tasted heavenly! When I saw this Bailey Nutty, I decided to give it a shot. And well, I regret it. lol. The bailey was too strong. It was too bitter for me (I don’t and can’t drink) so I switched it with Zombie-kun’s :p.
Zombie-kun ordered this but I took it from him :p. This one was good! The coffee and chocolate blended perfectly. The whipped cream and the Oreo chunks on top made it even more perfect. Though I don’t really drink coffee either, I enjoyed this one.
We didn’t order too many dishes because we already full by the time we came here. Overall, JJ Royal Bistro was great! We, the greedy zombies, really enjoyed our time there. But if they can maintain the availability of their cakes while maintain the quality & freshness of the cakes itself, it would be perfect!
We will visit it again for sure. As a life-time chocolate drink lovers, I want to try the Molten Cocoa and all of the beverages with chocolate in it. Do you guys have any recommendation? Leave your comment below 🙂
