We went to Senayan City to watch Channing Tatum’s new movie, Jupiter Ascending. We didn’t know what to eat, so we just picked a place to eat randomly. Our randomness brought us to this Italian restaurant named Spageddies Italian Kitchen.
This restaurant is located at the 4th floor of Senayan City, Jakarta. Light up with a neon lamp, Spageddies board sign is not hard to find. The interior of the restauran3t reminds me of country Italian kitchen with the open kitchen and racks consist of tomato cans, bottles of only God knows what, and some seasoning.
I ordered Squid Ink Ravioli With Seafood as my main course, which the menu says is a squid ink pasta stuffed with seafood filling, served with spicy neapolitan sauce.
The pasta was served hot, but nothing special. The sauce was not spicy at all. Too sour for my liking and all I can taste was just tomatoes. The pasta was made of nothing but thick flour. I can’t even comment about the seafood, because the pasta itself had barely nothing inside but just a little shrimp sized even smaller than my little finger’s nail.
My SO ordered Combo Manicotti and Cannelloni. This one was better compared to the previous one. Manicotti is a pasta with herb cheese filling topped with a tomato sauce. The cheese inside the pasta made a good combination with the tomato sauce outside. The filling was savoury and the sour of the tomato sauce complete it perfectly.
Cannelloni is a plump-chicken filled pasta topped with alfredo sauce and mozzarella cheese. The sauce was thick and creamy and the filling inside was great and satisfying. Though for us, it felt a little bit too much because of its creaminess.
The drink was okay. We ordered Raspberry Lemonade and Green Apple Mint Ice Tea. The Raspberry Lemonade was sour but not too much and contained a lot of raspberry chunk. So refreshing!
But the Green Apple Mint was weird and smelled like cough syrup (?).
Overall, for us it’s just okay.
